Schloss Charlottenburg

Is the largedt place in Berlin and reminds me a lot of the Viennen Castle "Schloss Schönbrunn" or the Grazer one " Schloss Eggenberg" by its barock & rococo stil especially the interior designs & details.

This palace was built bsck in the 17th century and was further expaned in the 18th century.
A larger formal garden surrounds by forestland was added to the backside of the palace which includes a mausoleum, a belvedere, a theatre and a pavilion. During the 2nd WW the palace was badly  damaged but has been reconstructed.
You can alway ce and visit the palace including a special tour from 14-25€ each.

In front of Schloss Charlottenburg is now a cute christmas market with lots of mulled wine (Glühwein), german food, sweets and lots of stuff to by such as books, handmade jewelleries, candles, decorative lamps,...etc.

Street art

The diversity of graffities and artwork
you will find on the streets of Berlin is a fun way to explore the city. It doesn't matter if you are in the area of Mitte, Kreuzberg or a posher district like Charlottenburg, you will find them everywhere and it is quite refreshing and for me as a designer very inspiring.

The topics can be about political topics, movies, nightlife, comics or just fantasie related.

Keep your eyes open and your mind currious ;)

Berghain ~ nightlife & Afterhour sunday

is well known for his strict security bouncers as it's the hardest club to get access to. They look at you and it is possible that one of the "Türsteher" will tell you it's not your party tonight so you can go home. It's not possible to buy tickets in advance and on the door is the strictest security guy called Sven Marquardt who is well known for Berghain's doors. Usually you have to Q up for about 1,2 or even 3h as the line is too long because they have a famouse lable night and on the door they will ask you how many people you are (it's not good if you are more than 5) they asked me for my age and if you know what party you want to go to or think what's on tonight. The most music-orientated club in Techno scene. If you don't know the topic of the night or the djs playing it's a reason for them to turn you away and if you are too drunk you can't get in either. Same with tourists, they hate them as they Berghain is not suppose to be a tourist attraction, it's a famous underground club for an extravagante audience and gay people with a good taste in music. That's why you sometimes just don't get access only because of the reason that you don't speak any german or wear the wrong clothes. Wearing black is a good tipp but not really a guarantee to get in. Everybody was recommending me to wear black colours but inside I've seen so many people dressed up super freaky. Always a good look as a guy is any kind of "Sadomaso" outfit or beate Use accessorize as there are 80% of gays inside. However, Berghain is well known for the best underground music djs, soundsystem and long party hours but also as free gay culture club where they can live their gay phantasies in public or hidden in darkroom areas.

Best time to visit:
My friends and I for example decided not to go out on saturday, stay in and get up around 7am and party the whole sunday as it opens on saturday around 23:00 and closes on Monday around 3am - no joke!
The best time to arrive at Berghain is beteen 7am and 13pm as there is no Q like for example 1-6am. Doors open from 23:00 onwards but in Berlin it's too early if you arrive there before 2am.

Inside Berghain you have 2 main floors and lots of corridors to walk upstears & downstairs. Also there are lots of darkroom areas where (most of the time the gay) people have sex if they want.  There is no light in these darkrooms what so ever and if you've been to Berghain for the first time you might find this shocking once you pass these cabins and see humping bodys on top of each other. There is a really fine line between an amazing music club and a gays club I have to say but don't worry if you are a straight guy you don't have to be scarred of the guys and as
a girl they won't even look at you. There are also a few lesbians but mainly guys showing off their crazy outfits and dancemoves. The toilets are unisex and you won't find any mirrors anywhere. When you walk around the club you will find a lot of chillout areas where people just sit down talk and relax. At one bar you can even order coffee, tea or ice cream. I highly recomment that you pick a night where you especially come for the djs you want to see.
