Arena Club ~ nighlife

 

Near Treptower Park is the Arena Club which looks inside similar to the London Fabric club and reminds me a bit of the "Fabrik-club" in Kärnten/ Pörtschach.

It took around 1-2h to get inside on a busy night when i arrive there between 2-3am.

The bouncers are very strict and wouldn't let anybody inside who doesn't speak any german or has a German ID.

I met some very nice guys from Berlin made it easier to get in as well, however as a partygirl ususally you always get inside if you are not too drunk ;)

It's not allowed to take pictures so some of these are from

the internet. 

Inside the club you have lots of upper chill out corners, beidges to walk over and a little balcony where you can dance and look doen on the main floor.

I sayed until 9am as I arrived quite late at 3am and got in 20min later.

To stay awake with Berlin's party people drin " Club Matte". It's like an energy drink but stronger than Red Bull or coffee but healthier and you can stay awake longer without any problems to fall asleep if you want also without having any headaches on the next day. 

I was very surprised when my friend told me about this drink as I've never heared about it.

"Well it's a Berlin thing".

Berliner Eigenheiten

I got myself a book about the "Berlin style" which is a fun guide about the typical Berlin woman. what she likes and dislikes, her look and behaviours. I don't necessarily agree with all of what stands inside this book but I have to say it's fun to read and when I go outside on Berlin's streets I recognize a view things already which are mentioned in the book. Also there are lots of restaurant suggestions, tipps and trivks about shops, lifestyle and nightlife.

I also reslise that people from Berlin LOVE the colour black, either in their daily workinglife or at night when it comes to partying.

One of the sad facts is that there is no "Paga drink" in the supermarket. Only in a small cafe at Weinmeisterstr. Tube station @Kaffeemitte.

In shops for example I realised noby is coming up to you asking if they can help you with something. My impression is they are not very service orientated as you need to go up to them and ask if they can help you with something if you need anything in specific.

Der Fernsehturm ~ telecom tower

The Telecome tower is right in the center of Berlin at Alexander platz and one of the most known characters of Germany's capital city.

As an University-reunion I met up with my old London College of Communication class-mate Rodrigo from Brazil/Sao Paulo.

I ordered a ticket one day before online

Cost: 17€ premium fast line to skip the line one it comes to the elevator.

(hand in your coat at the cloackroom at the entrance so you can visit the restaurant as well)

The elevator tool only a few seconds to get up there. It went so fast you could feel it on your years as they "pop".

At the top you will find a glass-fromt and you get to walk around in a circle. There's also a bar with cocktails to enjoy.

I booled our ticket for 15.30 in advance so we could see the sunset at 16.15. A bit

of both, day and night even you're suppose to stay up there as long as you'd like.

Stunning view of all the sights and districts of Berlin! 

Even we didn't have a reservation, Rodrigo and I decided to have late lunch at the tower-restaurant as we had a look at the menu downstairs. 

I really recomment to book a table in advance, which is easy and free online.

However, one floor up you find the nice "spinning" restaurant with an even better view.

The Berlin wall

I bought a monthly travel card for 78€, were I can use all public transports in zone AB. Alexandra told me I prob don't need more only if I want to go really far outside.

However, I took the Overground to Ostbahnhof and walk to the East gallery, which is the name of the open air - berlin wall part with all the graffitis related to the history of the german Nazi time.

I might have to make another capter for a quick historical summery as the German history was a very intense time in general. It is very important as it is easier to understand the mentality of the German peoples compared to the rest of the world.

Hafter my sightseeing trip to a part of the Berlin wall next to the river on this beautiful, sunny autumn day I met up with another friend I met in Australia at the tattoo studio in Melbourne where I got my tattoo from. 

Her name is Alexandra as well and she is from Berlin.

Alex has her new boyfriend from Sydney here for a 2week visit, which is the reason ehy I couldn't stay at her place from the beginning on.

I'm really looking forward to all the adventures we will have together during the time I'm in Berlin as we had so much fun during my time in Melbourne ;) 

We just "clicked" from the very first moment onwards and had a brilliant time partying, going to clubs and just exploring the city ;)))
